Jaipur : To celebrate World Environment Day, the Faculty of Design, and the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) student chapter organized a bamboo plantation event at the construction yard of MUJ Campus. India is the second-largest producer of bamboo in the world, and it holds significant potential for reducing our carbon footprint. Bamboo significantly contributes to soil health and carbon sequestration, helping to mitigate the effects of climate change. Additionally, it grows very fast, making it an excellent resource for sustainable development.
 
To create awareness of bamboo All MUJ faculty, non-faculty, and supporting staff were invited. Dr. G.K. Prabhu, President, inaugurated the event with a bamboo planting, followed by Commodore Dr. Jawahar M. Jangir, Pro-President, Dr. Nitu Bhatnagar, Registrar, and Prof. (Dr.) Madhura Yadav, Dean of FOD. Other leaders, faculty members, and supporting staff participated. A total of ten bamboo trees were planted. Dr. Prabhu emphasized the importance of organizing more such events to achieve sustainable development.
